Short-nosed Tripodfish - Triacanthus biaculeatus
Short-nosed Tripodfish - Triacanthus biaculeatus (Bloch, 1786) [more of this species]
Tripodfish look very similar to Filefishes or Leatherjackets except that they have a single hard spine on each of their pelvic fins as well as their dorsal. This species a yellow caudal and pectoral fins fins and a large prominent black blotch on the base of the dorsal fin. The upper half of the fish is greyish with yellow blotching. The lower body is white which contrasts with the upperbody colour.
