HDR Landscape

    Another experiment. Trying HDR with landscape shots.

    Undecided about the results, think this is just too unreal looking, something unbalanced about the image ? It is however an improvement on the flat drab photo that came out of the camera.

      When I was a teenager (and had never travelled outside of my own African land) I fell in love with Scotland and bought books about Scotland on garage sales and the like. Some had colour illustrations but because of the crudity of the technology of the time they quite often looked quite a lot like this. If I got an image like this out of the camera I would be using a gradient quickmask to send all of the bracken in the foreground darker brown.

      HDR suppose to fix the image, not to exaggerated it, so if it done properly, it wouldn't even look HDR, you managed to do the latter, so well done for not following the useless 'crowd'!

      it's a great shot, doesn't look unrealistic at all, well the sky probably a bit, but still look fantastic.

      have you look at it in black and white - it look even more realistic! (just changed it to black and white on my computer to see how it look).
