Fog in HDR
I planned to keep only one photo in this fog photos but when I looked at them again, I saw a couple worth sharing. This one looks nice as it is without any processing but I originally took 3 exposures of this scene as a practice to HDR so I can utilize my latest Photomatix investment.
I first worked on this as a regular RAW file and in my eyes, it was really great but I figured another photo with nothing but trees in a fog is enough and so I did my original plan to process this as an HDR image. Some commented that they don't like how some HDR images look over-sharpened with the halo on the subjects and I, as my technique, avoid them as much as possible. In this case, I believe the halo came out nice as it made the foreground tree stand out from the rest and gave the other trees a soft, foggy effect as it was intended. I can't remember if that was the sun (probably is) shining at the back of the tree but the halo intensified the effect. The trees were in different distances and the fog gave emphasis on the different depths of focus. I used the rule of "odds" here. Thanks for looking! Comments[robert joseph] says:i love fog!!!
