HGIMP admin notice: PROZAC74, for real: you
have the most awesome and creative shots. We
enjoy viewing them here in HGIMP. However,
this is high participation group that
requires frequent group participation and
commenting on other people's photos. Think
of it as a TWO WAY street. I would like to
leave you a gentle reminder to comment on
many per one submission. You are not
commenting on the photos in between your
submissions. Please go back to the group
pool and participate before posting your
photos. I want to welcome you to the group,
and encourage more "two way street"
participation from you.
Thanks! HGIMP co-administrator.

rude.

I'm presuming its because it looks to be
quite a small bathroom and women do tend to
blossom out when they are pregnant so there
might not have been room for both....

@photuomey and Teaseress
You both got me wrong I think. To do these
photos you actually have to take two photos
from exactly the same angle under exactly the
same light conditions (sorry for all those
that I have desillusioned now. The mirror is
not really magic...).
I can not put the camera on the tripod in
the bathroom, take a photo of my pregnant
wife, let the whole setup untouched for half
a year in my bathroom, just to do the second
shot from the same angle 6 month later.
There is nothing rude about that, except
that my wife would have become rude if the
tripod standed in her way for half a year.
Beside that the bathroom became really
small towards the end of her pregnancy...

Very nice concept and execution.
And a very happy photo, too!
I understood the up front comments about
not being able to capture the pregancy then
wait. But hey, you could've had your wife in
makeup to *look* pregnant (stuff a few
pillows, etc).

Late last night a call came and from daughter
in law. Two days ago I had this dream about
son and his wife having another baby and I
shared with husband. Their first son, Trey,
was born this past January and they so wanted
another close to Trey. Well, my dream was
right. Son got on the phone and was so
emotional with joy and crying with joy. It
was so touching. Your photo here is so
touching!

You are right. After your input I went
through the series and also came to the
conclusion that the white balance is best
here. Probably also due to us wearing so much
white. However I will try to adjust the
others like that.

Magnificent creativity. I love the contrast
between the sad expression of the girl's
profile and the radiant smile in the mirror.
20/20 for the creativity, but the light
reminds me of a hospital... the shot would
have been better in a warmer atmosphere. Why
choose the bathroom? A mirror in a bedroom
would have been better, maybe...
Very well done, though !

I'm a great fan of Prozac74's photos and they
inspired me for the few mirror shots I have
on my photostream. On this occassion (as
with the others) the idea is fantastic and
superbly excecuted. Having tried this myself
I know it can be awkward to get the right
angle so that you can add a mirror image to
it. Taking away the sentimental value of the
shot, the lighting is bright, the figures
sharp and the composition wonderful. :o)

nicely done, creative and good work in
photoshop. these are cool shots, as so many
popular story shots of _rebekka and her

this is nice in color. only thing distracts
a bit is the light above the mirror and some
tight cropping of mirror and your arm.

A very original idea idea with an excellent
execution, particularly in terms of the
composition, the light and tones, the
cropping, and the context management. A
picture that could easily become a pitfall,
transmits an intimacy and a remarquable
family atmosphere.
