The homeless guy is called Brad. On New Year's Day 2010 he wants me, and any other amateur photographers I can muster, to photograph his event: a sponsored canoe launch. He is getting a vicar friend in full regalia to launch the canoes. Brad and his friend are paddling the canoes. One of them will have a dog in his canoe. It will be freezing and wet. This stunt is to let the public know that homeless people are out 24/7 in all weathers. Brad wants our photos to make the press.

So, fast lenses, tripods and lots of experience. We should be able to manage the second one, at least.
