Easter in Greece is a big celebration, the time when you do not have to be religious to go to church. I remember as a teenager actually going to the church voluntarily with my friends at midnight on Good Saturday, the only time I would go, granted not for more than 10-15 minutes, and yes, the reason we went there was to meet people rather than anything else. For us it was a social occasion rather than a religious one.

Anyway, here are some photos from Good Friday in Trikala (more in the comments). Good Friday is probably the second most popular (in terms of attendance) of the Easter evening celebrations, Good Saturday being the first. On Good Friday every single church will make a procession carrying the "Epitaphios", a canopy decorated with flowers, to commemorate the burial of Christ.

I went on a 2 week holiday and then came back to work and that was it - could not get the time to even look at Flickr for close to two months. Well, I'm back, but not sure whether I will be able to be here as often as I used to be. I'll see how it goes...

I was waiting for my wife and son opposite this staircase. If it was not for the fact that they came and we had to go and also the feeling I was too obvious and would end up annoying someone, I would have gone on taking these shots. I have only loaded two here (one more in the comments) but there is something I liked about these - I think at some point I will try and do a larger set.

Well, here it is. Friday. A special day for Nikolas, last day at school, and also for me - last day at work, not going back for two weeks:-))

We went to see Micmacs a few weeks ago, a lovely French comedy by Jean Pierre Jeunet, probably best known for Delicatessen and Amélie. I like his style, all these three movies are instantly recognisable as his work. I still cannot believe that the same person directed Alien: Resurrection, perhaps it is someone else with the same name:-) My wife was slightly annoyed with me for taking an SLR on a visit to the cinema... Now we have a different issue: we are going to Greece for Easter and she does not want me to take the tripod with me. Does anyone know, can you take a tripod in the plane with you, or does it have to go in the suitcase?
