Somebody set fire to a condemned building in downtown Helsinki. It used to be a spot for all kinds of fun stuff from flea markets to parties, and some people were extremely pissed off when the city council decided to tear it down to make room for a concert hall of sorts. They're still burning...

That's a gorgeous image - everybody keeps saying how beautiful it was. But what a party atmosphere downtown - it's kind of like a perfect blend of vappu and juhannus. We need a makasiinit to burn every year!

Only problem is, it's stinking up the air. The wind's blowing the smoke in my direction right now, and my eyeballs feel like someone rolled them in sand. Not so much fun, that.

This is my favourite from this very moving set.

To see buildings burning is always an awful shame.

I hope nobody was hurt, and that inhaling the smoke doesn't cause anybody any problems.

Nobody appears to have been hurt in the fire. Asthmatics and others with respiratory problems haven't been having a wonderful time last night, but no permanent damage appears to be done there either.
