Interesting character, but the crop of the hand and the feet are really unfortunate. The defender is perfectly executed and composed and hard to match.

While the subjects are quite similar (both being folk singers from Rajasthan), the defender's photo is much better technically and artistically. The texture of the backdrop is interesting, while here it's too cluttered. The contrast, the colours and the expression on the man's face are all far superior in the defender.

I prefer the defender because of the texture and the colors. I do like the backdrop with water and trees in this one, but the defender is a lot more balanced and less cluttered.

I like the lighting, colours and presentation of this shot better than the defenders - I especially like the lake and trees in the background, even though it makes the result more like a post card - but I'm OK with that :-)

Unfortunately, it's cropped too tight so that the missing hand on the right and missing bow end on the left are major distractions.
