gold and blue

The shadows on snow produced by the burnished gold of the low sun in winter are a colour almost too fantastic to believe. The golden highlights sprinkle across a breath-taking blue.

Since I was a child, I've thought that I would one day have a ballgown in that blue, or perhaps in the deeper blue of the light ten minutes later.
