Family

a family of sheep watch with disdain on as a crazy clan of tourists, myself included, take a flurry of pictures.

Place d'Albertas

Place d'Albertas

Some squares are vivid and full of life, while some are melancholy and await people to come to it.

this one was a bit of both; vivid yet quiet, beautiful yet eerie, distinct yet forgotten, silent yet strong.

as a detour from my touristy pictures, here is one of my favourite portraits from this summer.

swati and saumya are all smiles on a grey morning at Shallow falls, Snowdonia.

rotunda

rotunda

Aix en Provence was the playground of Cezanne; his inspiration and his muse. And its understandable why. Small without inducing claustrophobia, large without being mundane – the town is perfect for tourists and artists alike. And the historical city centre is so beautifully conserved– old and new, ancient and modern, galleries and pubs – all coming together in an eclectic mix.

One of the most distinguishing features of the city however remains its fountains, and none is grander or more imposing that the Rotunda. But then again, with lions guarding its gates, can we be surprised?
