GPO2 in the Lord Mayor's Show 2010
On 13th November 2010 a group of staff and Friends from The British Postal Museum & Archive, and members of the Postal History Society, participated in the Lord Mayor's Show parade.

Joining us on the parade was GPO2, a special Post Office vehicle designed to provide postal, telegraph and telephone services for visitors to agricultural shows, sports meeting and other social and business functions held at places where there was no permanent post office. The Ministry of Transport allotted the registration index letters 'GPO' for the exclusive use of the Post Office on special public vehicles, hence our referring to the mobile post office by its number plate GPO2.
