The People's Choice Award Logo.

I created this logo for the NEW group PEOPLE'S CHOICE group. Created with the main intention of promoting BEST QUALITY IMAGES (amateur, intermediate and/or professional photographers). Anyone can join, anyone can vote, let's have fun and improve our photos by getting constructive criticism by other flickr members.

poncho hola como estas fijate cuando vi tu logo me recordo una cadena famosa no recuerdo si de cafe con tonalidades verde con amarillo no recuerdo bien ni siquiera la marca pero yo he visto este diseño, pero te quedo padre este nuevo logo y la foto, saludos=D

Actually the logo was based in classic and universal measures, forms and colours. I'll try to explain it but my English is not very good.

First of all The Circle is associated with Union, Homogeinity and it is a very Reticent Symbol for the viewer.

The Star is an universal symbol that represents Excellence, Leadership, Ingenuity and Universe. It is a reticent symbol which means that stays in viewer's mind for a longer time after seen.

If you delimit a Star by a Circle the Visual Impact is Stronger.

All these are basic rules of Composition for Logos in Graphic Design.

The Dark Purple and the Golden Colours connote Imperial Supremacy soaring ancient Roman Empire.

About the typography used, it is a classic ARIAL BOLD which give important weight to the composition and it is easy to read.

A lot of brands and companies, etc use this combination of graphic elements for their institutional logos: Volkswagen, Pepsi, Starbucks Coffee, Converse, etc.
