Thanks! Bitter melon is a much hated vegetable in Indian cuisine but is one of our favorites. It is also used in Chinese and Thai cuisines.

This capture actually makes the much-hated bitter gourd look very attractive and enticing! Have you cooked bitter gourd leaves/vines? They're good with chicken or in soup.

thanks, missuspie! And, no, I haven't had a chance to try the leaves yet. My Indian grocer always stocks them sans the leaves. I am hoping to try the leaves when the Farmer's Market gets going again. I will get in touch with you for a recipe then!

I like the repeating pattern of the green frilled edges. Good detail and texture on the center of the one furthest back.

I wish I had a recipe, but the Farmer's Market vendor just told me to make chicken soup with the vines. So I improvised. I think I also stir fried it with some mock duck (braised seitan/gluten) and garlic.
