Mr. Saturn back cover

The Japanese text would be the spine label on the notebooks that go with the original cover. Since my planner doesn't have a spine, I decided to leave it alone.

I think the text says "Hobonichi Notebooks," which is the brand the cover was made to fit. I don't know what's up with the crazy striped across the bottom half - it's not visible in person.

Mr. Saturn front cover

EarthBound Central posted a downloadable notebook cover. I was siezed by the desire to somehow use it, so I fitted it to my day planner. I had to trim some excess paper off the top (just a centimetre or so), but I'm very pleased with the placement of the front cover design.

This little guy is Mr. Saturn, my reason for wanting to use this cover in the first place. Isn't he cute? He thinks he's in a disguise, silly fellow.

According to EarthBound Central, Mr. Saturn's speech bubble means "Potential." Isn't that pleasant to have on a planner?

rock candy, overhead view

HOLY MOLY an update at last. Bet you thought my camera was dead.

This assortment of literal "rock candy" was given to me by a friend. The mottled surfaces look rough, but note the shadow outlines - they're actually quite smooth. They are also very, very hard. Make sure you don't crack a tooth just looking at them.
