blizzard buster

I cut out the centers with a heart-shaped cookie cutter, which meant lots of munchkin heart donuts, too.
mine!
sweet touch.
Mmmmmmmm.
blizzard buster by pocket farmer.
Baked doughnuts from 101 Cookbooks. They're a favorite around here... James says they're just like his German grandma used to make.

Doughnuts for breakfast. Because it's snowing. Again.

*edited to leave a note: I halved the amount of sugar called for and also used half whole wheat pastry flour.

Yay! I love how doughnuts are universally appealing!
It's not the first time I've heard that, so thanks, but I'd rather just point to other people's recipes. :)
Wish you could, too. Someday all of us Maine folks should plan a meeting. You know, when it's NOT snowing.
I actually thought of you when I picked the heart!

Oh we always cut sugar in half and we use whole wheat pastry flour too, thanks for the suggestion... The Hearts are So adorable. We made donuts on snow days too when my kids were young... not alot but a couple of times- special. Very cute idea, to remember for when my granddaughter gets teeth... lol you know you're a grandma when... you start collecting recipes before she finishes teething...
