paradox

paradox by pochacco20.
I had a crazy idea last night and decided to run with it. Here's the result. In case you're wondering I didn't superimpose the photograph into this picture. First I composed the inner photograph and actually printed it out on photopaper and held it there for the big shot. (I then later snapped a picture of the printed photograph to help sharpen some of the inside image.)

I guess my original source of inspiration would have to be ocellnuri's Task Force.

Chris, I'm dedicating this one to you.

Thanks for looking guys.

neloqua, what made you think I used the S2IS for this shot?

And Ty, that compliment coming from you means a whole hell of a lot to me. I hope you're feeling better.

very very nice, really original! It does partially remind me of Escher, and partially reminds me of those weird-assed HP commercials! lol!

What HP comercials are you talking about? Is it recent?

Chris, your work can murder mine any day, but thanks for the compliment.

Girl flyer, there are actually four people in the picture, but they're all me so that's why they look the same. I should've changed outfits between takes, but I didn't actually think I'd be able to pull this off so I didn't bother... it was more of an experiment. I can't wait to try this again.

ungawa, glad I could make you smile. Your current buddy icon looks like it could use a smile. :)

Great concept and execution! I love the way the hand holding the "snapshot" is breaking the internal frame, as well as the limitation of the edge of what you've defined as the whole piece. Really creative and fun!

Nice shot - I don't have a problem with the contrast or tone, but love the dynamism of the shot. However, if I am to be picky, then I would have to point out the messy leads in the bottom right, and the fact that the photo cut's the head off of the person sitting down.

Hence, I'm remaining neutral.

Like this sort of photos, but your attempt is a bit blown out and you should better work as a barkeeper ;)
Try it one more time and add it again.

Well there's some picky people here isn't there! I love this shot - it took me a good few minutes at 3am this morning working out what it represented but I didn't bother thinking about how you actually did it... I love it. I think the contrast is fine as it works well with the picture, and I didn't notice any cables - at least, they didn't distract me at all. It looks very natural.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted... no gripes here.

Thank you for your honest comments. I especially appreciate the positive comments from those of you who voted "deleteme" and those who remained neutral. Constructive criticism was what I was looking for and I got plenty of good ones. I will keep all your comments in mind the next time I decide to do something crazy like this and maybe I'll even submit it to the Deleteme group.
Thanks again.
