Victoria BC Marriott Green Roof

The Marriott Hotel in Victoria, BC, Canada has a green roof above the entrance to the underground parking. I guess they used a lot of evergreen plants and trees because it's still very green even though this picture was taken in winter time.

apparently in toronto, if even 8% of buildings in downtown would install green roofs, the summer time city temp would decrease by 2 degrees. can you believe it?

Considering that no jacket is necessary on many a winter day, or that the flowers begin to show themselves in February, I don't think it's suprising that it's so green. The whole city is green! I miss it!! These projects are excellent and should be utilized all over.
