August 11, 2006: I Saw the End of the Rainbow

"The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you do the work."

Part of the most glorious drive from Seattle to Tri-Cities that I've ever experienced. Beautiful sunshine, a sudden summer storm, and this - the first of several rainbows that popped up around every turn for about 15 minutes. On two occasions, I actually saw the end of the rainbow. No literal pot of gold, but I think the amazing beauty is what they mean....

Location: Just west of Vantage, Washington, along I-90.

Saw this on Explore. It was in America in the west that I first saw the end of the rainbow too, I figured because there's so much space and nothing in the way of it. Great catch.
