My fav crop.

Flowers on a lilac bush growing in our front yard. I hope no one minds me saying, but I absolutely love this photo.

As already said...I'm not a fan of this kind of macros without any story to tell!
Anyway I can see vey nice colours here and a good DOF.
Maybe I would prefer a vignetting or something else to make a more interesting composition and to give the focus point more visual impact!

Nice colours. Wish more of the picture would be in focus, then the picture would look much better.

Flowers are always beautiful, but in order to avoid "trivial" (in the best meaning) shots you should try either to add something original or to stress colours. In this one DoF is poor, there's nothing eye-catching and colours need tweaking.
What about trying to do an HDR image, next time?

Love the colours, really catching. I can´t actually see any single one of the flowers in full focus.. also not too exciting imhp

Beautiful colours. My feeling is that the DOF is not right for this subject...either more of a macro with a narrow DOF or a wider DOF to encompass mor of the flowers would seem more effective (imho)

I can smell them from here! Even with a monochromatic photo you can create a focal point by contrasting a very sharply focused area with blurry areas or light and dark. Next time try to choose exactly where you want your focus to be.

I like your quote! Agree with the others, the focus seems a little soft, but I like the contrast in the colours between dark and light. And of course, it's a very pretty colour purple. Perhaps a crop could be used to take away some of the out of focus parts?

I think that this is a very good image with the potential to become a fantastic capture.

Yes, indeed most of the image is not on focus... and so what? There is no rule that says that it HAS TO BE that way... actually, I find that in the composition the way it is presented now, there is one flower in focus and in one of the thirds of the image, respecting the golden rule, so composition is not bad at all.

In my opinion, the change of shadows open light detracts, and in this way I suggest a square crop to keep the focused flower, to maintain the golden rule composition and at the same time to keep all the flowers in the image in the same light conditions.

The fondest memories of childhood were the lilac bushes in our backyard. For the short time they were in bloom my mother would daily place a fresh bouquet on the dining room. The aroma would permiate throughout our house. You could always find me with my face buried in the bouquet. They were then and still are my most favorite flower.
