Red Foxes

    Prev Next

These red foxes are part of an extended family. Two vixens had litters a few weeks apart, and they share two den sites about a hundred meters apart. Their two litters are mixed at each den site.

The adults are still shedding their winter coats in June, so they look rather ratty, but the cubs have full, soft, red coats.

They feed primarily on Columbian ground squirrels, with a few birds, voles and trout for variety.
