I'm disappointed, probably because it looks nothing like the Metropolis we saw in the tech demo last year.

By the way, may I ask, why are screenshots getting uploaded on a photo website?

It's Somenobody... he's always easily disappointed at a future Insomniac Games project. He was like that for UYA on the IGN Boards, then for Deadlocked and even Resistance.

That's a nice screen. It's great to see the evolution of a classic R&C city into Now-Gen. Me Happy...

Cron-Z, I've only posted around 15 times on IGN and it wasn't even under the name Somenobody. Why do you keep saying I was bad-mouthing R&C on IGN? I think you're thinking of the official PlayStation boards. I used to go there a lot, but that doesn't change the fact that I still didn't bad-mouth the game. I remember expressing a few frustrations here and there but that's normal, right? Every game could've been better.

And for your information, I love UYA (and you know how enthusiastic I am about its multiplayer part too, come on) despite whatever flaws or personal disappointments it may have, and I wasn't unhappy with Deadlocked until it came out. I was hyped for it when it first got revealed, I loved its online beta, and I played the pre-release demo for hours, but when it finally came out, it was unimpressive in many ways, one of my biggest beefs with it being the oh-so-annoying repetitivity.

And yes, I have made it clear that I'm not too happy about Insomniac making Resistance games, as I was baffled at how a once so creative company could come out with a... military/mutant shooter. Yeah, I'm buying it anyway when I get a PS3 next month, I'm sure it'll be fun for a while, but had the developer been id Software or something, I would've been completely okay with it. It just disappoints me to see Insomniac, out of all developers, hopping onto the FPS train (yes, they made Disruptor in '96 but that barely counts if you ask me). I mean if you're going to make a shooter nowadays, at least choose a different setting? Sandbags, old dull roads, shades of brown and gray, I've seen it, I don't care for it, I'm tired of it.

Then now for Tools of Destruction, I'm being slapped on the face with a hidden "Look at me, I'm outRAGEOUS! But wait, I'm going to offer a deep epic story too!" message. The Groovitron? Enemies suddenly stretching their limbs like lunatics and goofing off to old disco music? No, stop it! There have been silly weapons in the arsenal in the past games, but never has a complete joke appeared in front of my eyes. And not to mention, that throwing one of these will likely temporarily disable any enemy threat, making the game easier than it has to be. The Transmorpher, with the animal being a "hip-hop bouncing" penguin? Oh clever you Insomniac, you know how to hop onto trends which seem to force everyone to say, "Ohhh thats so cute lol im gonna get this game!" What ever happened to "Blowing $@!& up!" or "Kickin' @$$ one planet at a time?" Oh you can still do that, but this wackiness vibe similar to Rayman: Raving Rabbids will engulf your mind and make you forget that you were originally playing a real game.

As for the serious weapons, for months they've looked pretty rehashed. Pyro Blaster? Glorified Pyrocitor until proven innovative. Buzz Blades? Clone of the N60 Storm except you're firing discblades instead of bullets. Fusion Grenade? So far, it is just like every other bomb weapon the game has had, except the "coolness factor" has seemed to be drained out. But that's okay, because the graphics will be wonderful and there will be humor everywhere, right? Yes, those two things can be very satisfying, but I wish the series would get back on track and show us some good gameplay. As for the story, ah, I'm not going to comment on that, except that I think it'll either rock or flop. Nowhere in between.

I think it's reasonable for me to be disappointed, uncertain, and worried about the game's quality, especially since I've been wildly following the series since 2003.

I get easily disappointed at things because I have extremely high expectations, and I usually only settle for excellence. That, and I crave originality, innovation, creative visions, that kind of stuff.

Well, I think I've written enough.

If graphics are the selling point for you, why don't you just save a billion dollars and watch a few CG-animated movies at the theatre (or on DVD)?

I think it's a bit too late for that to happen. No doubt you'll find Shrek 3 on Blu-Ray this fall, though.
