Aboriginal Art

Aboriginal Art by Tom Coates.
Uluru itself is both larger and smaller than you expect. It's not like a huge mountain, but at the same time, it's the only thing for miles around. It has this weird power to it. Sits nicely in your head, pulsing somehow. It seems to be riddled with caves, most of which you can't go into. It's prime for story-making.

I love your description, "sits nicely in your head, pulsing somehow". For Aussies, there's the added factor that it already sits in your heart. And seeing it in real life for the first time, after a lifetime of absorbing it through as so many reference points (in pictures, movies, magazines, stamps, etc) ... when you see it for real the first time, the one that's been in your heart leaps forward to great the other with a profound power.
