Black Rock Falls [Week 1 - Before & After]

For 2009 I'm starting my take on Project365 with a photo a week that I focus on in the field and then take through post processing . Here's the before & after shot of the first week's image.

Hmmm. Interesting how the crop changes the subject. I like both...the original with the pool at the bottom as the star attraction (to my eyes at least) and the "after" version with the falls as the center of attention.

i wanted to like the one with the pool, but the more i looked I thought it took up too much of the frame and the pool and the moving water just competed with each other too much. So I went with and tried to emphasize the flowing water.. thus the crop and some minor adjustment to the exposure in a few spots.
