      My mom hates rats how do I try and make her like them more?

      Rats are, in my opinion, one of the nicest, easiest, and friendliest pets you could possibly have. They're playful like a dog, clean like a cat, and smart as a whip. Unfortunately, a lot of people have a instinctual negative reaction to them though... you may not be able to convince her.

      My suggestion is to find someone with a pet rat that's well socialized, and introduce her to it. That's how my own parents came to love them. :)

      I don't think she know that they're ALOT different than sewer rats.

      Actually, they're not really all that different from sewer rats. There's mainly rattus rattus and rattus norvegicus in the US, and pet rats are almost always rattus norvegicus with cuter colors than brown/black.

      You could undoubtedly raise 'sewer' rats to make great pets.

      Rats basically have bad PR. They're all pretty cute. :)

      This is a great cage for rats. Did you ever worry they will slip out between these bars? I was just googling looking for a rat cage that isn't so ugly and found this one! I don't have rats yet but I'm thinking about it. I like how we can get 3 of them to all be buddies.
