This is my rescue mutt Madison. She used to take your hand off if you had a treat, so I taught her this to learn some self-control and obedience. It took a little practice, but she's got it down now. I started off putting the treat on her paw, then moved it to the top of her head, and now she's an accomplished balancer. I have a hunch that as some point she was a stray, judging by her constant scavenging and the way she wolfs down food. This kind of practice has certainly helped out in that area.
