My NPPA Badge PhotoThis is what I am looking like these days. A little thin, but otherwise, I think I look pretty... pretty good for an old broad! I turn 45 next month, and I am planning on having a party to celebrate it. I have not celebrated my bday, outside my few immediate family members (me, Pop and the boys) since I was 16 years old. So, I would really like to have a bunch of friends over this year, and double it as a Christmas party too. I hope I will see some of you at my Big 4-5 / Christmas Bash. If you are local, and want to be on the mailing list, you know you just have to send me an email (see my Profile). It should be the weekend of my bday, December 17th, so I am thinking either Dec. 18 or 19, I have to run it all by my husband, of course, as his bday is also that weekend, but that's what I am planning... Pop took this photo of me, and I was bugging him by telling him what to do, how to use the camera, the flash... oops, can I ever stop being the Lead Photographer? um, no... sorry, Pop.
Uploaded on Nov 9, 2009 Pixie's Pez Collection
I honestly cannot recall when I started collecting Pez dispensers, but it was after I had my first son, because I started getting Pez dispensers for Sean, then Patrick, each holiday season. And I usually buy one or two extra for my collection. Now I buy them at Dollar Tree and stores like that, since they only cost a buck and I can find some cool ones there. I just picked up the black cat and The Riddler, or is it The Joker, from Batman. My fave one, of course, is Tinkerbell, front and center here. I have missed a number of holidays, but I am back at it again. I may go over to the Pez Museum in Burlingame, my hometown, and see if these puppies, some of the older ones, are actually worth anything. I only have a few in their packaging because I like to a) eat the candy, and b) like to photograph them, so I take them out of the wrapper, which may lower their value. Some of them are now almost 20 years old, same as my oldest son, Sean. Like Batman and Mickey Mouse, my two originals that started off the collection. If there are any Pez collectors out there, and this collection interests you, go ahead and make me an offer...
Uploaded on Nov 8, 2009 Oakland TribuneDear Oakland Tribune Building: I photograph you often. I hope, someday, to work for the newspaper for which your name graces this lovely, historic building in downtown Oakland, California.

Uploaded on Nov 1, 2009 Happy HalloweenThis group of homeowners off of Farnsworth is celebrating 20 years of putting up Halloween decorations in the court they all live in for the past 20 years. Today my husband and I celebrated being married for 3 years, having married on Halloween 2006. It was a special day, as Halloween is always a bit magical.
