I took another 'backyard stroll' yesterday. Phillips Park & Zoo is here in my hometown and I've never been ... not once; in the 17 years we've lived here.
It was 70 degrees with a crisp blue sky, the air fresh and clean; and everything so full of Autumn color. The light was so intense; so vibrant and full of life. I think I took about 50 snaps of this glorious monarch butterfly ... fluttering about from flower to flower.
This is a different subject for me. I think I have a total of two other butterfly shots in my Photostream. There is something about butterflies ... it is uplifting to watch them, but also bittersweet to think of their fleeting existence. The title is a lyric from a song by Fuel called "Shimmer." The song doesn't have anything to do with butterflies (except for one brief mention) ... but I like the song anyway ... and that particular line.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday!
