#002/365. Sunday, 1/2/2010.
After spending most of the day playing with photo management software, I've come to like Google's Picasa and Adobe's Bridge. The "Faces" feature of Picasa is impressive, but I wish that the face data were somehow embedded into the photo file's metadata. Fortunately, a pretty good work-around is to tag every photo in each face group with the name of the person. The tags (not the face data) go immediately into the meta data and are picked up by Bridge. I've been trying to enjoy Apple's iPhoto and Aperture programs, but they seem slower than Bridge and Picasa, so I end up using the Apple programs much less frequently.
This photo is from a walk along a rainy Torrey Pines State Beach. It's a little more than a mile down to Flat Rock, and with the wind blowing from the south, I got a little wet walking to the rock, but didn't notice the rain much at all on the way back. It was nice taking a walk for the fourth day in a row.
