      Northern Midwestern and Northern New England states benefit from a climate conducive to bright leaves. In part, due to a relatively brief/dry autumn (all species leaves turn together), dry summer, and enhanced by few storms (so leaves don't blow off like in UK). Climate effects the rate of pigment degradation.

      Blah blah blah... its a truly beautiful photo adn makes me miss Michigan in autumn very much.
