Calcutta Sunrise on The Day of Mahalaya

It is The Day when Calcutta wakes up at 4 in the morning ; it is The Day when Calcutta switches on radio sets to listen the once in a year program which was first broadcasted in 1930. It is The Day when Hindus remember & worships their ancestors ( Starting from the Father of Human being – Prajapati ). It is The Day of Mahalaya - The Beginning of Devi Pakksha.

Here you can see people offering Prayer to their ancestors. For hundreds of year, in the morning of Mahalaya this same scene is getting performed in this Ghat of Ganges.
