Wish you a Pristine 2012 !

When the nascent sun kissed the blessed planet today , it started a new Year for mankind. May this year bring you fresh air moist with the fragrance of morning dew, may this year fill your ear with the chirping of birds , may this year bring you happiness with the warmth of love.
Wish you a Pristine 2012 !

The Day you can't watch Sun Rise

The Day you can't watch Sun Rise

In Darjeeling there is at least one "Sunrise " everyday but that spectacle is not visible everyday. I know a person who failed to catch a glimpse of that magic at Tiger Hill even after 12 attempts.Don't loose heart . Even if " Sun Rise " & Kanchanzangha fails to keep their appointment with you ( as they did on that day with me) there will be enough magic , enough fire work on the sky which will keep you busy with your camera.

am too tied up with New Year PR of my company ; will visit you soon ; lots of love & hug !

Life in Loktak

Life in Loktak

India's largest fresh water lake ; worlds only floating lake ( where islands made of a mass of heterogeneous algae floats and shifts on the water) ; supporting a race of valiant soldier ( men and women both ) the land of the warrior queen Chitranggada who defeated mighty Arjuna ; the land of World Women Boxing Champion - M.C.Mary Kom ; the land of Raslila ( Dance drama based upon the Love story of Radha -Krishna ) the land of color and pattern.

Today , Life is hard and too uncertain here. Crushed between marauding tribes, clash between modern democracy and fiercely independent habits , China's "Thousand Pin prick " policy and total apathy of Hidusthani administration has made this place one of the most Lawless area in subcontinent. Thank god Manipur doesn't have a border with China or else they would have opted to join them - it is New Delhi's age old policy to put Value on states according to their distance from the seat of power or their number contribution to parliamentary politics. Stupid ! It's economy not army ! Economic prosperity iron outs many differences and economic interest unites many races.

Nimbu Paani @ Meena Bazar !

Nimbu Paani @ Meena Bazar !

We Indians have a fetish for Lemon. In summer you will find a Lemon - water vending crate very nearly at every bus stop. After a round of Golf , Saabs and Memsaabs, Chota Baby and Chota Saab will obviously ask for Nimbu Paani - ask any Koyihai .

In my local market you can find at least 4 varieties of Lemon - each with distinct Flavor and name. One for Sorbet , one for Rice , One for Lemon water ...... even you will find them ( accompanied by same number of Green Chilly )hanging at the main entrance of a house or business establishment . Why ? They keep the evil spirit away - simple.

Proved In Black & White -

Proved In Black & White -

Majestic Kangchenjunga or Kanchanjungha the Golden mountain is the 3rd largest peak in this world. The guardian deity of Sikkim. This peak has not been conquered by any - those who climbed this peak stopped few feet bellow the summit to show respect to this God. Now any expedition is prohibited.

I was sleeping fast on the roof top room of Norbu Ghang ; suddenly Karma knocked my door and told me to remove the curtain ! Voila - what I saw is in-front of you . There is no better place to view Kanchanjungha than from the roof top of Norbu Ghang - Gangtok. If you don't believe ask some one who has experienced or just go there and do that.
