Wow. It's really great that you've randomly found these two cards with the same girls holding their violins. I love the stands behind them to hold them still.

Speaking of holding still, a quick glance at the girls' left hands (best when viewed large) shows how difficult it must have been to hold their instruments in these poses for so long!

hi!

I was admiring your collection of antique photos for so long and I thought you could be interested in a project I've been working on called project RECOLLECTION.
I would be honoured if you would want to join it!

please take a moment to read the project presentation and if you have any questions about it don't hesitate to mail me.

Project RECOLLECTION

While collecting photographs found in antiques shops, I grew a strong desire to know more about them. Project RECOLLECTION rises from my interest in antique photographs along with the stories they can tell.

My wish would be to get as many people as I can to send me old photographs of their family past with memories and stories about them.

As I was experimenting in my darkroom, I made up a special way to reprint photographs, which doesn't need their original film roll.

I will have the chance to reprint the photographs people send me according to my own darkroom technique and to "recollect" them together with their special piece of memory.

To send your contribute to Project RECOLLECTION all you have to do is follow these simple rules:

- send me from 1 to a maximum of 3 scans of photographs along with a text explaining the history of each.

- write me your name, nicknames are fine too;
what you do;
your website, if you have one;

NOTE
The photos must belong to an era between the 1840's and the 1970's. You could aswell invent your story if you don't want to tell the real one, but all the scans must come along with a text to make the recollection complete.

To send your piece and for more information e-mail me at:

polly_balitro@hotmail.it

The bigger the project will grow, the higher will be the chance to have all the reprints along with their stories exposed in an exhibtion.
