Beautiful scenery to live in. In summer the vulcanic rock protects the people from the heat, in wintertime it's quite warm inside. Notice the red clothing hanging outside! The government asked the locals to move. They felt "ashamed" that people live in caves (?) Nowadays there are "hotels" found in these kind of "caves"! Tourism changed a lot here in Cappadocia ...
