1953 Heinz Promotional Casserole with Lid

    Newer Older

I am in loooove with this dish! I've never been a huge fan of the Heinz dish, because I thought it was kind of a weird color. I found one in excellent condition earlier this summer and sold it in my Etsy shop, because I didn't want it. I just about died when I saw it with this lid. The lid makes it! It's amazing! I wasn't aware that the Heinz promo came with a lid. I saw an original magazine ad, and there was no lid. So, I thought it never came with one. Of course, this could have been done later and offered for sale. Who knows. Either way . . . I absolutely adore this dish now! : ) Many people have called this the perfect brownie dish. With a lid, it will definitely be used for brownies. Normally, I use 2-quart spacesavers for brownies, because I like to be able to use the lid for storage. I can't wait to add this one to the mix!

That's what I was wondering, too. Not even a "Pyrex" mark on the lid? It's glass, though, right? Anyway, so pretty!

Thanks. :) No markings at all on the lid. It is glass.
