I did the same about a year ago and have gotten quite used to it. I cut my own hair now - bought my set of clippers at the local beauty supply. Now I can cut my hair every two weeks!!!!

It's ever so much easier to maintain when you go short! Tip: they now have clippers w/ built in vacuum (for catching the hair, not like "Suck-n-Cut!" :) ). Keeps things a bit more clean!
