Santa's helpers

I heard that Santa might not be ready for Christmas this year and so I created a dozen little elves to help him out :)
Actually it is a tradition of mine each year to make one of the gifts that I give to family and friends and these little elves are this years project which I just finished tonight....thank goodness because Christmas is almost here!

Holiday Express Train

The six-car Holiday Express train includes a smiling tank car “Rudy”; a flat car carrying Santa’s sleigh, reindeer and a miniature village; a ginger bread box car; the elves’ workshop; the reindeer’s stable; and a little red caboose.

Mike and I drove an hour and 45 minutes and met Pat (Backup1940) and Judy (Do-a-u-e) in El Campo Texas to see this really neat train and even though it rained it was so worth it! What a beautiful train this is and the wet conditions made it all the more special for photographing because of the awesome reflections:) To see the engines that pull this train see my comment below after mathteachers, I accidentally made this photo public before I posted that one as a comment.

Natural gem

Although Houston got a fair amount of snow yesterday we didn't get much where I live a bit south of there but this morning I woke up to heavy frost and went out to capture some memories. These photos are all of a flower that grows on a vine in my yard called a Butterfly Pea. You know I squealed with excitement when I downloaded them and saw this beautiful pyramid created by nature, no Photoshop used except for frame, I love my 100mm lens:)
