Great Scene! Its amazing the treatment of the red colour. Seems a city on fire or something like that. Congratulations!

Great shot, Graham. I was at a theatre production last night, so didn't have my camera with me. However, I did watch the eclipse and thought it amazing.

Nice effect. It really does look like the orangeness/redness of the moon is caused by the lights of the town or a nuclear winter. Very Mad Max.

Nice one Graham, was it really that big or is shopped?

I like a lot the colors you managed to capture. Having this as a panoramic help a lot on the aesthetic. I'm not 100% sure about having the moon centered like this, but I can't say I don't like this either. I would have liked to have the chance to capture the eclipse, but the clouds decided otherwise! So I'm happy to see what it looked like.

An apocalyptic landscape, almost alien.

Thanks all.
Freddy, The colours are natural, from sodium lamps and the eclipse.
Adcuz, the moon is "shopped" of course. You can see the two component images in my stream. The moon was taken with a 200mm and the panorama with a 60mm so there is quite a bit of enlargement of the moon in this scene.
Robidooo, thanks, I had two reasons to centre the moon. It helps conceal panorama stitching marks and it makes the moon visible on the thumbnail. I don't think it makes a big difference moving to the side. The background has some compensating asymetry.

Very right PhotoGraham. I guess the asymmetry of the background is the reason why I don't find it to be a big problem. In fact, not a problem at all.

How many photo were stitched together?

Just two photos in the panorama, so the join is in the middle.

Very good, was it one of these 60mm f/1.8 lenses? If so I really want one of these and they are cheap as chips.

You eat expensive chips! No this is the EFS 60mm Macro 2.8. It's a nice lens - good bokeh. The 50mm 1.8 looks cheap and interesting but too close to 60mm. I'm thinking about a a 28 or 35mm prime but I'd like to get a wide angle first.

This is fantastic, love the center being on the moon in relation to the horizon. Great shot.

wow -- you got so much detail and depth! View large is so worth it -- I'd have never noticed the powerlines in the foggy distance. and I love the centered moon -- so unorthodox, I love it!

F, it almost is real ;) All I did was paste the real moon onto the real night view. A small liberty with the truth ;)
