Academic Book StackKalevala in Savo Finnish. A quite peculiar book that has sparked a quite peculiar Ph.D. thesis... SKS surpasess itself with this compendium on the Kalevala, the famous Finnish epic. Joseph E. Stiglitz is one of my favorite economists. This book is a fairly accurate translation. Essential reading for someone who has done zilch in Anthropology before jumping to the Ph.D. Hey, how did that one get in there??? Theo Hermans has tried to apply Systems theories to Translation Studies. Not always workable but it has the merit to offer great insights on areas of the trade that are not always put into question.
This is my current Academic book stack. Much thicker than my home stack... but also much "drier".

Miten outo on Kalevala savon kielellä? En voi lukea paljon normali suomalinen, mutta se on mielenkiintoinen minusta.
