I have been fascinated with church organs since i was five years old, when i first started my local infants "church" school.I used to gaze up at these massive pipes , and wonder how the music came out of them. This is the first real good picture i have seen of the inside of the pipe chest,[ ever]!![And i am now 64 years old

Aye.....and that's only the mid and upper registers,if i'm not mistaken,
part of the lower wood flute pipes can be seen on the left,then there's the 16' bourdon and 32' diaposon pipes...amazing instruments!!..nay...
truly ...King of instruments!!

I wouldn't argue with you there mate. Sadly I didn't take everything in he told me. What I can say is, only one of the three largest pipes works. The one of the left is in use. The other two are ornamental dummy's.

Dummies...carrying two for back-up!...wonder if modern bands got the idea from Schultz...!!
Bet it would shake the building if they WERE all in use , then!
