another bright, scrappy concoction using this tutorial with the barn raising layout this time instead of the multiple diamonds like the one i made a few months ago.
it's *just* big enough to fit the top of our bed. i should really add another row of blocks to all sides, but i'm going to leave it this size + make some cute new pillowcases instead. making the quilt bigger means i won't be able to easily quilt it myself + i really want to finish this one quickly. maybe diagonal quilting lines through the rows of squares?

Very Nice. How do you plan to quilt it?
Specifically ... what kind of batting?

Mom--I'll use the same kind of batting I always use--Quilter's Dream 100% Cotton Request or Select Loft. I took inventory of the quilts I need to finish last night--looks like I really need to start investing in batting!! No more fabric until I've caught up on some finishing!!

this quilt is breathtaking. I have a scrappy trip around the world quilt that I think my great grandmother made. it is hand pieced and quilted. I really should take a picture of it and post to flickr.
now I want to make my own
thanks for the inspiration

This is wonderful.
About how many 12 inch squares did this take?
