This last Sunday I went over to Mallory park again to go to one of their events being held. I have looked over ther schedule for the rest of the year and as I do not work a regular 9-5 Monday-Friday, there are about another 5 events that I would like to go to when I am not working. I may still go to some of the gereral practice days, but from what I have been to already, I prefer event days.
On the drive over there it stared to pour down with rain, it was one of the very few times that I have had to have the wipers on my car set to their fastest speed, so I didn't think there would be much photography from me until much later. But as quick as the rain came, it left again. There was still a slight drizzle in the air but nothing to really worry about and for the rest of the day it didn't rain any more than that.
I tried to limit myself when doing the panning shots as before I had taken probably 4 or 5 for each time and hoped that 1 would be in focus. This time I tried to just take 1 shot and as the continuous focus on my new a77 did a great job of keeping up with the cars, I managed to get a lot more of my shots in focus and could concentrate on the timing of the shot.
When I saw that the Moto-X had started up, I was a bit worried about going over there with my new camera, and as I had brought my older one along in case it was raining, I went to the car and swapped it over. It just gave me one thing less to worry about and could concentrate on getting some good shots.
I think next time I go, I will have to concentrate on taking less shots as it's been too much going through them, selecting my favourites and processing them. And the fact that they are bigger files now as well hasn't helped. I will have to try to capture moments rather that just seeing the cars going past and trying to get as many shots as possible of them on each lap.
