new pipe layout and valve

new pipe layout and valve

Ok, so here's the Super Reflux, you can just see that I've split the water input, but I've only put a valve on the output from the condenser, as I want as much cooling as possible to the reflux jacket......

all the effort was a dismal bloody failure!

Why I don't know, though it's probably to do with having insufficient packing in the column extension.....

So it's the opposite from the base i.e. 22mm sleeve connector soldered into a 22 to 15 mm connector, with a short piece of 15 mm pipe and terminated with a 15 mm compression connector. Which just happens to be the same size/thread as the SS Super reflux still head.

This is the complete column extension - It's 1 metre long, and the 22 mm part of it, is filled with copper mesh packing.

It's a 15mm flanged tank connector, soldered onto a short length of 15mm pipe, into a 15 to 22 mm expander connection which is then joined to the 22 mm pipe with a double ended 22 mm connector (the solder in the ring was removed by heating and shaking it out - and replaced with lead free plumbing solder)
