Thank you Simonov, I really appreciate the
encouragement. Please let your guys on the
board know that they are welcome to get in
touch if they come to Japan or ever want any
information about the mountains here.
You're lucky to a) have beautiful mountains
like the San Gabriels nearby and b) have such
an active group to share them with. There are
of course climbing clubs in Japan and I've
belonged to a few, but they tend to be quite
cliquey and their style (big group,
heads-down-climb-mountain-go-home, lots of
drinking) never really appealed to me. Maybe
I should start a forum like yours for
Japan...
