hugo häring model

hugo häring model by Peter Guthrie.
A 3d diversion inspired by seier+seier+seier's fascinating photos of an agricultural building by German architect Hugo Häring.

Modeled in rhino3d using panelingtools. The timber structural components ended up being curved which isn't correct, but I'm not too bothered about that! All dimensions are guessed... Rendered in 3dstudio with vray as always.

I this case, I didn't really need to use it. Its more for populating nurbs surfaces with objects, or dividing up nurbs surfaces into grids. Example of something that would be harder to model otherwise:
