hugo häring component

hugo häring component by Peter Guthrie.
A 3d diversion inspired by seier+seier+seier's fascinating photos of an agricultural building by German architect Hugo Häring.

Modeled in rhino3d using panelingtools. The timber structural components ended up being curved which isn't correct, but I'm not too bothered about that! All dimensions are guessed... Rendered in 3dstudio with vray as always.

It took me longer to figure out the shape of the component to be repeated than it did to model the entire barn, I ended up having to resort to a pen and paper!

...and yet I see no 'pen and paper' tagging on this image!

Seriously, though - lovely set of images. And what a fascinating roof! Also very much like the concrete propping it all up.

(uhhh, says Dave)
