Rose-Ringed Parakeet
I haven't been active lately here on Flickr, which kinda started to bother me... So this afternoon I decided to take some shots from the regular visitors of my garden and the balcony.
The ringnecks just love peanuts and they sure can use the extra energy now winter arrives in our country...

Fight Club
Filmed with CANON EOS 7D and EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM
My first attempt to make a movie with a DLSR, though I still have to learn a lot.
Actually I'm not too keen on videos on Flickr, but I was just too curious about the camera's possibilities and I liked the scenes I had captured on film. That's why I decided to share it with you.
This video is filmed at the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, The Netherlands.
Oct 22, 2009. And off tripod obviously...
To get a good impression about 'the arena' you can read the stories of Hennie and Roeselien, who were also part of the show - You can even hear them taking shots during the fight!
*Note: You can watch the movie full screen, but it will appear pretty blurred because I reduced its original size. I used the build in microphone, so it picks up the sound of the Image Stabilizer too. Sorry for the poor quality, it's not the camera... it's me I'm afraid ;-)

Canon EOS 7D - Test [1]
Large
Image comes straight from camera; untouched.
I only resized the image to 1276x850px and added the copyright sign to it.
Raw image converted to JPG by Canon's DPP software.
ISO 200 | 1/500s | F8.0 | 300mm | -2/3 EV
I needed an update for my 20D and wanted a camera that is fast and useful for wildlife photography. So when I read about the the new 7D, my choice was made ;-)
*First impression: It's a solid and accurate camera. It works smooth, it's fast and the images come out sharp and well balanced.
I still have to find out all possibilities but so far I'm VERY pleased with the results. It's a killer machine!
