NO PARKING
Sign on an airport service roadway at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.
I like the way the "N" and "O" can be read in either 180-degree rotation, and combined with the orientation of the "YIELD FOR AIRCRAFT" sign, it's confusing to try to read the rest of "NO PARKING", which is really meant to be read from the other direction, of course. type stacked in reverse order: while i understand the reasoning behind this kind of road writing, i think it’s a terrible idea. our eyes aren’t trained to read like this, so it ends up being distracting for the moment it takes to figure it out.
however, all these markings do make a really lovely composition!
