Every Cloud has a Silver Lining

It was a grey, wet, cold day for my Figure class at the Cincinnati Art Academy today. But every cloud has a silver lining, and the grey light and rain on the window led to this shot. Not sure why, but it is one of my favorites. Something out of nothing, perhaps, or finding something good in a crappy day? The buildings you can see are recently painted in bright colors, and this picture would never have worked with the old browns and greys. Some minor photoshopping to bring out the colors of the out of focus buildings, but not very much. Highest position: 21 on Monday, December 18, 2006, Jan 2 2007

I like it, very well seen and captured! Yes, the house colors and silhouettes are wonderful-a very painterly effect!

I love the emotion in this. A view from an art class window, as per your description is perfect. This has a Paris, Impressionistic feel to me, even if it is Cincinnati :-)
