From my silverprint archives, shot in the late 1970s in Winter Haven, Florida. This was the end of an era for drive-in movie theatres. To stay alive, the Haven Dale drive-in showed soft-porn movies during the week and on Sunday it was a drive-in church. I am not making this up!

I remember this place! When I was a child we would go there and watch movies.I remember watching King Kong there. As a teenager we would go on Wednesdays for $1.00 car load night. This was in the late 80's and early 90's.Lot's of beer drinking,pot smoking,and foggy windows.You could always count on a good fight or sometimes even a full-on riot!Yes,they still held church service on Sundays.I don't remember the soft-porn.That must have been in the 70's.Oh the good times! It was demolished in the mid 90's.I believe a Chevy dealership is there now.

Great photo! I visited this place (and the old Boulevard Triple) many times when I was a kid. Perrygrl, do you have any more photos of this or other area theaters?
