Insomniatic Technicolor Dreams

Insomniatic Technicolor Dreams by Perpetually.
Lately Ive been so busy with school and work that the only thing that keeps me sane is creating shots. but it also makes me more insane. and i find that the more I do the more I find it difficult to sleep. and many of my nights are spent obssesing over photoshoots. this shot for some reason was a pain to set up and came out completely different then how I originaly imagined it . I have Matt Hoeffler to thank for the lighting, which he set up while I was getting my eyes painted by Maggie. This shot is inspired by the style of National Geographic Ads from the 1950s.

halfasleepanddreaming.com

also its been annoying me immensely that my photos look so different on PC's. I work on a Mac and the photos come out a lot brighter and less contrasty and then when i see them on a PC they can look like a mess. Is there anyway to fix this?

Phantasmic! The lighting is great -- as is the make-up. An excellent collaboration.

p.s. i think the only way you can "fix" the mac/pc color/contrast debacle is to put something on your stream that people can calibrate their monitors to if they want to. Mac and Windows have different palettes, different displays (generally), and the whole thing is a freaking gamma-defaulting botch. Good luck!

I think it's calibration... But you would have to callibrate every monitor that your photos are seen on

This is the best self portrait of yourself you've ever done. You have to do a waking mind bubble.

Don't worry about calibration. It's not going to happen. Ask yourself why this matters. That's how you will learn about your art. Technically speaking down the road displays will offer better contrast ranges, etc. and the light we see now will evolve as led (Light Emitting Diodes) or oled (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) sources of light alter our sense of what lighting ought to be.

These technical questions often are dead ends about how to express yourself clearly. If you must have a terrible bad example just look at Ansel Adams and wonder why that guy promoted black and white over color photography? He could write books about technique and technology of view camera photography and influence lots of people, but his work is a backwater of photographic expression.

He couldn't match you in seeing people, or being a rebel. Your work is not founded in technology except that you use Flickr. And I think you are fighting being an artist. Of the three, school, work, and photography, I see your life in your photos and I don't see school, I don't see work. Your expression is dominant in who you are.
